 Annie's Road and Midgetville Revealed:
Well we'd read so much about the legends of the infamous Annie's Road. In a nutshell, Annie was killed on prom night on the road and haunts it still.
Here's some reality to the story, the road of legend does exist. And to add to that, it can be found by more then just drunk and stoned teenagers. The road is actually Riverview Drive and it stretches for several miles through the town of Totowa, New Jersey. Midgetville also does exist, along Riverview Drive there are several midget houses but particularly in the frequently disturbed and paranoid little cul-de-sac community of Norwood Terrace there are about 14 houses which are of particularly small stature.
We assembled everything from spotlight flashlights to digital cameras and maps as always and ventured out to quietly invade the Norwood Terrace community dubbed Midgetville by local story tellers and Weird NJ and to pass through and see Annie's Road.
It was October, so there were leaves everywhere and we weren't able to find the tell-tale red mark on the road to mark the spot where Annie's car crashed but we did find this cross with flowers, which appeared to be a rather recent addition to Annie's Road. Even if Annie's story wasn't true, car accident deaths have happened on this road several times before including the death of three teenagers in a horrific crash.

Later down along the road is a culdasac called Norwood Terrace, which has become a severely harassed community due to the rumors of Midgetville. Loud obnoxious teenagers cruising down the road now can be fined by Totowa police as the posted noise ordinance in front of Norwood shows. ALSO the one end of the culdasac of Norwood is blocked off by a concrete barrier which was broken in half. The houses are rather small which looked very peculiar but we were very quiet and respectful of the community. **Please if you make a similar trip be equally respectful of the community, remember they are just regular people in a community known for it's smaller homes that's all.**

After all that fun, we drove to Montclair in search of the Soda Pop Shop which we'd read about off a website. Now that was an interesting little food joint. Good eats, good design, good displays and good service. I do believe I recall ordering a burger, malt shake and fry. The shake made the stop well worth it, however, the burger and fries were pretty basic that you could get in any diner. The decor on the inside as well though really made the experience, the inside walls are lined with old board game boxes and all sorts of 50's and 60's knickknacks.
Here's a few more pictures:

All and all, it was a good trip, I'd definitely recommend Annie's Road as a good 'haunted' place to visit.
